SILENT

Bangalore, August 2019

And all the words they say
are
dripping
dropping
drifting
and falling down
from their tongues
to the ground
and in between
bodies
and in between
humans

And all the words they say
and all the promises
they make
are dripping
dropping
drifting
away and falling down
on helpless minds
and a motherless child

And all the words they say
and all the forecasts they make
are
dripping
dropping
drifting
and crashing down
on hoping daughters
and fluttering sons

I open my eyes
I let them talk
let them talk
and talk
their empty talks
and shout out their
empty words
and I
I just listen
and I
I see

And then I try
I try to just be
to stay
to listen
to see
and then dive down
to the grounds
of their unknown hearts
of their unknown souls
and their mighty thrones
made of gold
where lies unfold

And drawn from
the real
and drawn from
the human
they despise
they scream
and I
I see
and try
to just be

I see holes
when I dive down
down
deep beyond
their empty shells
their empty eyes
so deep
deep beyond
their deepest fears
and I
I’m dripping
dropping
drifting away
and falling
inside
inside
myself

And on soft heels
I am quietly walking
step by step
with open arms
open eyes
calm and free
and their words
are still dripping
dropping
drifting
away and falling down
in front of my feet
and I
I step on them

I step on them
so quietly
so calm
and I listen
how they slowly dissolve
slowly disappear
underneath my bare feet
and I
I am still here
walking on words
and step by step
on soft heels
and with open arms
no need to shout
no need to fight
and calm and free
I am silent

I’m strong when I’m silent.
